Kerin Keller Memorial Scholarship
through the Ad Club Seattle

Founded in 1921, the Ad Club Seattle (formerly the Seattle Advertising Federation) encourages relationships and cooperation between producers, buyers and sellers of advertising and media. Our members are among the best-connected in the industry. Ranging from account executives and media buyers/sellers to Web developers and public relations representatives, the networking potential in the Ad Club Seattle organization is enhanced by seminars and speaking events led by the industry's top professionals. The Ad Club Seattle, an affiliate of the American Advertising Federation (AAF), is one of the nation's strongest and most vital clubs of its kind. Eligibility:

Applicants for the Kerin Keller Memorial Scholarship must:

1. Be attending or prepared to attend a 2 or 4-year public or private, accredited college or university, at the undergraduate level, in Washington State.

2. Have demonstrated financial need, although need will not necessarily be the determining factor in the selection of recipients

3. Be a resident of Washington State .

4. Be majoring in business or communications. A focus in marketing, advertising and public relations is strongly encouraged. The award is designated as the Kerin Keller Memorial Scholarship and has the additional requirement that the applicant be related to a victim of cancer.

Scholarship Awards

For the current year, an award of $1,000 will be offered. The Kerin Keller Memorial Scholarship will be awarded at the Ad Club Seattle lunch program in June.

Applicants must provide the following documentation to the ACS Scholarship Committee, POSTMARKED BY: March 31.

1. A completed Kerin Keller Memorial Scholarship Application.

2. A personal essay (not to exceed one 8.5x11 page, double spaced) explaining your relationship to a victim of cancer and how this award will help you achieve your educational goals.

3. A list of significant activities and honors. (one page only)

4. Two letters of recommendation.

5. An official transcript from the high school or college the student is currently attending or if not currently in school, an official transcript from the last school they attended.

6. A copy of a current, completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR).

Awards amounts will be at least $1,000 and are not renewable. Applicants will be notified after May 1st. Copies of this application may be duplicated for distribution to other interested students.
